About Suvita

Suvita is an impact-driven, evidence-based nonprofit focused on increasing uptake of routine childhood vaccinations in India. Over 4 million children born every year still miss their basic vaccinations in India, leading to far too many vaccine-preventable deaths. We run two rigorously tested, complementary programmes:

  1. SMS reminders: We send personalised SMS messages to caregivers to prompt timely attendance at government clinics.

  2. Immunisation ambassadors: We identify and train local opinion leaders to volunteer as vaccination advocates to share reminders with families in their communities.

Since our founding in 2019:

About the Role

Suvita is looking for a dynamic and mission-aligned Recruitment Specialist. This will be an individual contributor role, responsible for planning, assisting, and executing end-to-end hiring for our growing team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys process streamlining and execution, and is motivated to build a strong talent pipeline while ensuring a thoughtful candidate experience that reflects our values.

You’ll also help shape Suvita’s talent brand, explore new talent channels, and refine hiring systems to make our processes efficient, equitable, and human-centered.

This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in both strategy and execution, and is excited to build an exceptional team at Suvita that drives large-scale impact.

Core Responsibilities

  • Full-cycle Talent Acquisition: Manage sourcing, screening, assessments, and interview coordination for roles across levels and functions.

  • Talent Sourcing: Build and nurture a strong talent pipeline using LinkedIn, job boards, networks, and proactive outreach.

  • Candidate Experience: Ensure timely, transparent, and values-aligned communication with candidates throughout the process.

  • Hiring Strategy: Partner with hiring managers to understand role requirements, define selection criteria, and design interview processes.

  • Employer Branding: Support initiatives to strengthen Suvita’s presence on platforms like LinkedIn and in relevant professional communities.

  • Talent Analytics: Track hiring metrics, generate reports, and provide insights to improve efficiency and quality of hires.

  • System & Process Improvement: Maintain organised candidate databases, streamline workflows, and suggest tools or automations to enhance efficiency.

  • Onboarding Support: Coordinate with the People Team to ensure a seamless transition for new hires.

  • Diversity & Inclusion: Actively promote inclusive hiring practices and ensure fairness in selection and evaluation.

What a typical day could look like

In the morning, you review your active hiring tracker and prioritise roles that are time-sensitive to fill. You follow up with shortlisted candidates, schedule interviews with the relevant hiring panel across time zones, and send structured evaluation forms to interviewers to ensure consistent scoring.

By midday, you partner with a hiring manager to refine a JD, after which you post the role across relevant platforms. In the afternoon, you analyse sourcing data to understand which channels have the best conversion rates and identify where drop-offs are happening.

Before closing the day, you send thoughtful rejection emails to candidates not moving forward, ensuring they leave with a positive impression of Suvita. You also block time to improve one part of the hiring system, perhaps refining interview rubrics or building a lightweight dashboard to track hiring metrics.

Who should apply?

This role is ideal for someone who sees recruitment not just as filling roles, but as building the backbone of organisational impact. Every hire at Suvita directly influences how many children receive life-saving vaccinations.

You will thrive here if you enjoy both structured systems and human interaction. The work requires rigour in tracking, documentation, and process design, but also empathy, judgement, and strong communication.

This could be a strong growth opportunity for someone who wants to deepen expertise in mission-driven talent acquisition, build hiring systems from the ground up, and play a visible role in shaping organisational culture.

It is particularly suited for someone comfortable owning outcomes independently in a remote, fast-moving environment, while collaborating closely with hiring managers across functions.

Essential Requirements

  • Deeply aligned with Suvita’s mission and values

  • 4 - 5 years of experience in end-to-end Talent Acquisition (experience in development, nonprofit, or early-stage startup contexts preferred)

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organisational and multitasking abilities, able to handle multiple roles simultaneously

  • Proficient in using ATS, Google Workspace, and sourcing platforms like LinkedIn Recruiter

  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment

  • High emotional intelligence and a genuine interest in connecting with people

  • Open to feedback and eager to continuously improve systems and processes

Likely background signals (not strict requirements)

  • Experience hiring across diverse functions (operations, programmes, strategy, communications, etc.)

  • Comfort designing interview processes and structured evaluation rubrics

  • Experience working with hiring data and metrics to improve process efficiency

  • Exposure to remote or distributed teams

  • Evidence of building or improving hiring systems, not just executing them

Nice to have

  • Experience hiring for roles in the development or global health sector

  • Familiarity with competency-based hiring and structured interviewing

  • Experience building hiring systems from the ground up

  • Experience using ATS tools to build dashboards or reporting systems

  • Exposure to employer branding initiatives or talent marketing

  • Basic understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusive hiring frameworks
