About Suvita
Suvita is an impact-driven, evidence-based nonprofit focused on increasing uptake of routine childhood vaccinations in India. Roughly half of the 19 million children who still miss basic vaccines are based in India, where one child dies every four minutes from vaccine-preventable diseases. We run two rigorously tested, complementary programs:
-
Immunisation ambassadors: We identify and train local opinion leaders to volunteer as vaccination advocates to share reminders with families in their communities.
-
SMS reminders: We send personalised SMS messages to caregivers to prompt timely attendance at government clinics.
Since our founding in 2019:
-
One in ten children born in India benefits from our SMS vaccination reminders.
-
We’ve reached over 40 lakh families and enabled an estimated 84,000 children to become fully vaccinated.
-
We are partners with government health departments in Maharashtra and Bihar
-
GiveWell estimates that our program is highly cost-effective at $1-2 per child reached.
-
We have been incubated and funded by sector leaders like The/Nudge Foundation, Ambitious Impact (formerly Charity Entrepreneurship), Mulago Foundation, GiveWell, D-Prize, Founders Pledge and Schmidt Futures.
-
We have appeared in YourStory, Vox, Giving What We Can and the 80,000 Hours Podcast.
About the Role
We are looking for a Research Analyst who is excited to apply rigorous research skills to pressing social challenges. You will contribute directly to a pivotal stage of Suvita’s growth and scale-up plans in India, while gaining hands-on experience with the day-to-day of high-quality research.
The position sits at the intersection of research and decision-making. You will synthesise data, prepare analyses, and produce insights that go beyond academic outputs. Your work will directly inform Suvita’s strategy, from where we expand our programmes to how we make them more cost-effective. You will also work closely with leading partners such as J-PAL. In particular, you’ll contribute to an RCT Suvita is conducting with J-PAL. If you are detail-oriented, motivated by impact, and eager to learn from and contribute to top researchers and practitioners, we would be excited to hear from you. For the right candidate, this role also offers the opportunity to take on greater responsibility and grow quickly within the organisation.
Core Responsibilities
-
Data preparation and analysis: Clean and prepare datasets for analysis. Conduct preliminary statistical analyses and produce tables/figures with empirical results; gather, analyse, and present quantitative data using STATA, R Tableau, etc.
-
Survey & research design: Assist in designing questionnaires and other instruments; contribute to preparation of research materials and data collection.
-
Literature reviews: Undertake reviews and summarise findings to support senior researchers.
-
Project support: Provide day-to-day administration, track deadlines, and ensure smooth project operations.
-
Data quality & documentation: Maintain good folder structures, documentation, and transparency; run quality checks for ongoing surveys; clean up and organise old project folders.
-
Reporting & communication: Draft project reports, prepare outputs, present findings to the team, and correspond with partners, field teams, or donors as needed.
Who you are
-
Deeply committed to impact and aligned with Suvita’s values.
-
High agency - you can find a way to get done what needs to be done, without waiting for conditions to be perfect or otherwise blaming the circumstances
-
Strong quantitative background with applied data analysis experience.
-
Fluent in STATA and comfortable working with large datasets.
-
Accurate and detail-oriented: you produce clean, reliable outputs.
-
Organised and reliable: you manage your own workflow and deadlines.
-
Clear communicator in both written and spoken formats.
-
Quick learner with curiosity for new methods, tools, and contexts.
